Jury Duty

Back in September, I postponed jury duty service as you're allowed to do provided you choose another date. I picked a day, somewhat randomly, not too far in the future. The 17th of December, which happened to be yesterday. So early in the morning, I left Gem with a neighbor and got on a rush hour train. Made my way to the court house on Centre Street with a lot of other people. We waited, shivering, in a long line, single file, that wrapped around the court house. Until finally, we were led inside, passed through metal detectors, up to the 4th floor, and into the spectacular and cavernous waiting rooms. There we filled out forms and waited to be called for a trial. Hours went by and no one was called. It turned out that the 17th of December was the last day of jury duty for the year! Everyone cheered when this was announced. No love of civic duty could compare with our being released back out into the cold day, free.

Today, I got an email saying  the CDs for Sing to the Ghosts are on their way via UPS. I'll wait until they arrive before announcing it. I'll probably put them up on Bandcamp around the first of the year. Happy Holidays to you and yours! Despite the terrible world, we have each other. We have music and art and books and love!
